I recently blogged about a string of Whiting wells in southwest North Dakota, between Belfield and Dickinson. I believe this is Whiting's Pronghorn prospect which is a bit southeast of Whiting's Lewis & Clark prospect. In my mind, they are still one and the same; I need to remember to separate them.
I sound like a broken record, but Whiting's Lewis & Clark prospect in southwest North Dakota is geographically 3.5 x larger than the Sanish, and the Whiting TFS wells, on average, might be better than the wells in the Sanish, if that's possible. If northeast McKenzie County is the bull's eye of the Bakken in the north, Whiting's Pronghorn prospect might be the bull's eye of the Pronghorn/TF formation.
For newbies, a snapshot of Whiting and its operations can be found here. Compare this well with the Mastel well that I was so excited about yesterday.
Also here. The Pronghorn prospect is a little bit southeast of the Lewis & Clark prospect.

Whiting had indicated that the Pronghorn Prospect was a sub-prospect of Lewis and Clark Prospect,i.e., Lewis and Clark/Pronghorn. In Whiting's recent presentations Whiting describes its plans for the Pronghorn separately from its plans for the Lewis and Clark so it is confusing.
ReplyDeleteThank you for helping me out. I had forgotten the progression of that -- the Pronghorn prospect evolving out of the Lewis & Clark as its own prospect.
DeleteI am in the process of trying to place each oil field in the appropriate prospect. As the southwest area of North Dakota gets developed by Whiting, it will be important to sort out if the wells are part of Big Island, Lewis & Clark, or the Pronghorn. When I post that, hopefully readers will help sort out if I've misplaced any of the oil fields.
Would you have a guess how many frack stages there might be in a $3.3MM Stimulation?
