  1. So thats roughly 4-5 miles down? Amazing the precision possible by these folks. At a loss for (any more) words

    1. Yes, two miles down (vertically); they they turn, and go horizontally another two miles. Extended long reach horizontals go about three miles in the Bakken (rare, but exist).

      The precision is amazing: measuring the distance to the nearest inch or thereabouts, and measuring drilling hours to the nearest tenth of an hours (or six minutes).
