Fast And Furious; Did WTI Drop Below $60 Overnight? -- March 2, 2021

Holy mackerel, there are so many headline stories today and I haven't even gotten to The WSJ yet. This is simply amazing, the stories being posted today.

Where do we even begin?

First things first:

  • this could be huge;
  • Russell Wilson to the Cowboys
    • Wilson says he wants to go to the Cowboys
  • Dak to Seattle?
    • Dak doesn't seem all that excited about staying with the Cowboys, and vice versa

From yesterday:

  • California to report a $19 billion surplus. That just blows me away.

RBN Energy: midstreamers' ESG agendas focus on reining in methane, CO2, part 3.

Many leading energy companies have come to accept the reality that environmental, social, and governmental (ESG) matters are now front-and-center concerns to an increasing number of investors and lenders. Their challenge, of course, is that the hydrocarbon-based commodities they produce, process, transport, and refine are by their very nature prospective generators of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases that the ESG movement is targeting. What’s an energy company to do? For many midstream companies, the answer — for now at least — is to focus on minimizing the release of methane, carbon dioxide (CO2), and other GHGs from their gas processing plants, pipelines, storage facilities, and fractionators, and on switching to renewables to power their operations. Today, we continues our series with a look at how midstream companies are addressing investors’ and lenders’ concerns about the sector’s GHG releases.

  1. #1 Russel Wilson is not going anywhere. This is nothing but off season hype that sports talking heads come up with every year between end of Super Bowl and start of baseball season.
#2 Wilson is under contract while Dak is not. Cowboys would have to do a sign and trade deal with DP and it would have to be in a range that Seattle approves of or deal isnt done.
I wish I had a talk show where I could throw out wild ideas and then watch the sports world lose their collective minds.

    1. This is what I find most interesting: Dak and Dallas. So much in life depends on personal relationships. I think Jerry Jones had a personal relationship with most of his quarterbacks over the years. I don't get that same feeling with regard to Jerry Jones and Dak. At some point, Dallas needs to get beyond this year-by-year quarterback story.

  2. JJ needs absolute control and a skilled QB goes against that control.

    1. He needs absolute control but the Dallas Cowboys have had a lot of skilled quarterbacks. I think Jerry Jones needs absolute control and absolute loyalty. He is willing to sacrifice skill -- think Tony Romo -- for absolute control and loyalty -- and there may be some underlying "he looks like me" factors.

  3. Aikman and JJ both arrived in '89, After Troy left in 2000, there was a revolving door for 6 years til Romo showed up.
Agree with the look alike assessment, Dak is a modern breed of pro QB and Jerry is just enough old school/stubborn/hardheaded to not appreciate that

    1. Wow, wow, wow -- we're both on the same page of music. Agree completely.

    2. By the way, I've watched a lot of sports talk television, and the discussion has changed immensely. It's almost as if BLM is writing the script. Whatever. The interesting thing: now one individual has mentioned what both you and I have opined about Jerry Jones and Dak. Amazing.
