It didn't take long for American Energy to act. AEZ requested permission to drill 16 wells in Williams County; see the NDIC April dockets:
Case 12392: American Oil and Gas, 16 wells in Williams Country.
Specifically: "...establishing sixteen 1280-acre drilling or spacing units consisting of Sections 30 and 31, T.158N., R.96W.; Sections 6 and 7, T.157N., R.96W.; Sections 1 and 12; Sections 2 and 11; Sections 3 and 10; Sections 5 and 8, T.157N., R.97W.; Sections 14 and 23; Sections 25 and 36; Sections 26 and 35, T.157N., R.98W.; Sections 5 and 8; Sections 17 and 20; Sections 26 and 35, T.156N., R.97W.; Sections 17 and 20; Sections 18 and 19; Sections 29 and 32, T.156N., R.98W.; and Sections 4 and 9, T.155N., R.97W., Williams County, ND;..."
This area is completely undeveloped; no activity in the immediate area. If any success here, American will open up a whole new area, adjacent to the Midway and Ray oil fields, both of which are very small and relatively inactive.
American currently has four wells of interest:
SUMMERFIELD 15-15H (2,178 bopd) | SWSE 15-T147N-R96W (Bear Creek) |
BERGSTROM 15-23H (3,049 boepd) | SWSE 23-T156N-R98W (wildcat) |
RON VIALL 1-25H (2,844 boepd) | SWSE 25-T156N-R98W (wildcat) |
TONG TRUST 1-20H (1,421 bopd) | SWSE 20-T157N-R96W (Ray oil field) |
The two wildcats are just a few miles west of the Ray oil field.
I don't own any shares of AEZ, but I truly hope these are all good wells. You have to give AEZ a lot of credit for "going all in" -- with these wildcat wells in this area of the Williston Basin.
