Curiouser And Curiouser -- October 10, 2021

FAA site continues to show airports operating normally (10:01 p.m. Central Time, Sunday evening, October 10, 2021) but I'm getting reports that flights are being canceled by multiple airlines at multiple airports.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist but this is getting curiouser and curiouser.

This story was first breaking on the blog / twitter earlier this morning.

This is more than just Southwest Airlines.

American Airlines canceled flights from Las Vegas to DFW late this afternoon. First flight available from Las Vegas to DFW on any airline is now on Wednesday, three days from now.

From a SWA (LUV) pilot. The interesting thing is that mainstream media seems to be minimizing the reporting and we're hearing nothing from the federal government or the FAA and yet flyers are starting to connect the dots.

Follow American Airlines as this unfolds.

Covid-19 Vaccine Update

The CDC reports the vaccination rollout data on a daily basis at this link. Often the data is reported very late in the day but almost never does the CDC miss a day. As of 10:15 p.m. CT the CDC has not posted the vaccination data for today.

    1. Yes, weather moves through in about one hour. At most, it would normally result in weather delays of one, maybe two, hours. Follow American Airlines here:

    2. Right now the weather seems to be affecting only two airlines: Southwest Airlines (LUV) and American Airlines.

    3. And if it was weather related the FAA would be reporting it. FAA shows all airports operating normally. I've been checking about every hour or so.

  2. The customer service counter at dfw for American looked to be about a 3 hour line. Insanity

    1. We just picked up our granddaughter at DFW. Her flight out of Las Vegas on American Airlines had been canceled. She took a rental car from Las Vegas to Phoenix where she got the last seat on a Spirit flight. Her dad will catch a later flight. Because the flight was canceled due to weather (LOL) no reimbursement.

  3. Not dismissing the underlying story of the pilots vs the airlines, but:
That was one mother of a storm system, stretched from San Antonio to Cedar Rapids Iowa.

    1. Yes, and it only affected Southwest Airlines and SWA doesn’t fly much in Iowa. The weather passed through in less than twelve hours. The problem actually began one week earlier, the previous weekend. The flights are still being cancelled today and no weather issues. The FAA said no airports were affected by weather this past weekend. The links were posted throughout the weekend.
