Perhaps a similar post has been made in the past, so forgive me if this isn't real news. Looks like Montana's Upper Bakken is getting some real some significant attention and investment. Apache looks to be a major player in Daniels County.
Yes, the Apache Daniels story (not to be confused with the Archer Daniels company) has been in the news lately and gets reprinted, and recycled.
I've add a tab at the sidebar at the right so Montana will be easier to find.
Again, this gets confusing. There is the Bakken in eastern Montana that is part of the Williston Basin, and for the most part includes three eastern Montana counties on the state line. We now have a fourth Montana County, Daniels County, that is a bit farther west. To the best of my knowledge, we've yet to see what Daniels County might produce.
There is also the Alberta Basin which is in central/northern Montana, straddling the US/Canadian border. The Alberta Basin is not part of the Williston Basin.
