See "the Monson pad" for the graphics and names of these wells. Link here. I brought them forward just to note how incredibly productive these wells are.
Data points:
- to complete a well: $7 million (or less)
- $40 / bbl
- 175,000 bbls * $40 = 7 million

Mr Oksol, you have any idea, why MRO [Mr Oil]
ReplyDeleteis having such success with their drilling?
- Hans
I do not know, but I have noticed that and have written about it on a few occasions.
DeleteMost folks who follow oil and the Bakken would simply say that the porosity / permeability was an exception -- some of the best in the Bakken where MRO happened to drill. I disagree: there may be some truth to that, but I think a lot of has to do with the geologists, the rough necks (keeping the bore in the seam), and great planning before drilling.
Maybe I'm naive, but I like to think there has to something more than just geology when an operator keeps reporting incredible wells.
