Does this mean Slawson likley will put more wells in the sections these wells were drilled?
ReplyDeleteThe trend in the core Bakken is to put multiple wells in each 640-acre section. Whiting is already putting 4 - 6 wells in each section in its core areas in the Sanish field. BEXP reported in the last few days it sees 6 to 7 wells in each core section.
ReplyDeleteThe NDIC hearing dockets suggest the same thing.
I assume the drillers are working as fast as they can to hold their leases by production, and to get as many wells drilled as possible before the EPA regulates fracking.
My hunch is that we will see multiple wells in many oil fields, including Parshall, Sanish, Big Bend, Van Hook, Alger, etc., which is already happening.
does anyone know what is going on with permits 18871 18870 are they in the same section?
ReplyDeleteBoth, I assume, are on the same pad. They are both in the same section, NENW 15-151N-92W. Is there a reason you are asking? IPs have been reported for both these wells.

ReplyDeleteThe folks over at the Bakken Shale Discussion Board can answer this question much, much better.
ReplyDeleteHaving followed that board for the past couple of years, it appears it takes about six months for the first check to come after the well starts producing.
