I will have to look up the rules of the annual Geico award. I believe one cannot win that award two years in a row but there are always exceptions. There are no rules about a Geico lifetime achievement award, so he may qualify. I'll check with the rules committee.
For some reason reminded me of a Navy story. My uncle was 1950s era. One time he was CO on a tiny ship. And they brought him a sailor and said "we caught him and he's a thief".
He looked at the little kid and said, I don't know, he doesn't look like a thief.
Chief said, "Yes sir, he really is a thief."
My uncle, "Yes, but he doesn't LOOK like a thief".
Chief, "Ah...." Took him away for 15 minutes and brought him back. He looked like a thief then
The biggest problem with guys like Art Berman: they are selling newsletters and need "scare" tactics to get people to take notice. They need "inflammatory" headlines to stand out among the crowd.
In this case Art Berman really, really misread what was going on which tells me all I need to know about his understanding of the shale revolution.
Just might qualify for perennial Geico lifetime achievement award
