I like your blog, but think that you may give people (or yourself) wrong impression by dwelling so much on the best wells. Per Shale Profile, the average 2017 ND Bakken well did 225 MMBO in 24 months.
ReplyDeleteAs I have said many, many times, I am inappropriately exuberant about the Bakken.
DeleteThat's the average? I wonder what the median is in the Bakken.
225,000 bbls x $40 at the wellhead = $9,000,000 over two years. Wells are running about $6 million now?
The median will be even lower than the average because the distribution has a longer tail to the right (higher volumes, big wells). The same is true with income--billionaires pull up the average much more than the median! ~120,000 bopd based on looking at ShaleProfile.com. Hard to get exactly the median 24 month cum, but 125,000 is the median for cum for all 2017 wells, regardless of age as of SEP19 (so little over 24 months for the average well of the year).
