The author of the article linked has a very short term outlook. His point seems to be that ev investments are risky.
There were (formerly) respected scientists who insisted that it was impossible to send man to the moon and return safely. They had the same set of calculations. Thank god for innovators and visionaries and the venture cap folks who back them. And looking at energy investing as a zero sum game where gains in one technology come at the expense of another is a mistake.
