- Holiday Inn: next to the airport with "all" the other motels; the structure is pretty much complete; interior work now needs to be completed
- Hampton Inn and Suites: next to the hospital; top soil has been moved and staked
- Motel 6: frame, I believe, is up; it's northwest of the bypass; not as far along as Holiday Inn but well ahead of Hampton Inn
- Add: Best Western on the north side of Wal-Mart Super center. They have already poured the foundation. They said it will be a 100-room motel, and plan to expand another 50 rooms next year according to the Williston Herald (see first comment below). The link is pretty cool, but will change over time.

You forgot the Best Western Atrea on the north side of Wal-Mart Super center. They have already poured the foundation. They said it will be a 100 room, and plan to expand another 50 rooms next year according to the Williston Herald also found who the developers are on the site below:

"Williston, ND August 17, 2011 – The Grinnell Group, Inc., a hotel construction firm broke ground on a 99 unit Best Western Atrea Hotel in Willisoton, ND. The hotel in center in Williston, ND in the center of the Bakken Oil fields. "
Thank you; I will correct the post.
ReplyDeleteI literally cannot keep up.
I have no defense (I thought I had mentioned Best Western once before, but a quick search of my site did not reveal that).
Wouldn't it be great if these motels stayed full 20 years from now with tourists heading to national parks in Montana and North Dakota as oil workers started drawing down? Smile.
Now on KUMV-tv today, they had yet ANOTHER ground breaking for another new hotel. A 125 room Value Place Hotel north of Williston by that new Bakken Industrial park. They said they plan to build a restaraunt to. It must be next to the planned super truck stop? My guess anyway. It is definately hard to keep up with all the ground breakings in this town.
ReplyDeleteYes, I blogged about that last week:

but had to leave details out because I got the news through a private source. I generally don't print anything that is not yet from a public source, unless it's very clear a) I have permission; and, b) there's no chance of hurting someone. This story I knew but printed bare minimum.
Yes, it will be a the truck stop north of town. I hope they do the truck stop up right. If they do it right, it could be an attraction even for local folks. We'll see. But it's going to be huge: 720 acre industrial park, hotel, truck stop.
Should be fun.
