Jumpin' Jehosaphat, Batman! ADP Says 250,000 Jobs Added In December -- Unprecedented -- Talking Heads -- January 4, 2017; Wow -- Dow Futures Up 100 Points

Big story today? Tesla. Already $11 down in futures. [On open: down almost 3% on a day that the market is surging. Down about $9.]

Weekly petroleum report: to be released at 9:30 a.m. CT later today.

Jobs: Making America great again. We'll get the link later but right now CNBC is reporting that the ADP is reporting that America gained 250,000 workers in December. I assume the official figures and the unemployment rate will be released later today or tomorrow (Monday was a holiday and threw everything off by a day. Wow, thank goodness, General Eisenhower didn't unknowingly plan D-Day to fall after a holiday. It could have delayed everything by 24 hours. And the moonless night would have become a crescent-moon night.)

Jobless claims:
Markets: Dow futures up almost 100 points. It appears all major indices will open higher again today. What happens in Washington, DC, appears to stay in Washington, D.C. [Update: Dow opens up 140 points; Dow hits 25,000 for first time ever; S&P hit 7,000 for first time ever, earlier this week. CNBC and talking heads still incredibly negative with regard to the market.] The Trump rally is still being called "a synchronized global economy."
