Update On That SHD Thud Well And SHD In General -- September 30, 2014

This is really quite a story, at least from very little I know. Folks can read about SHD here, and here, what little has been posted.

SHD has eleven (11) permits/wells (as of September 30, 2014). Eight of them are in section 36-151-95, Clarks Creek. The other three are in sections 30/31-150-90, Deep Water Creek Bay, McLean County.

In the Deep Water Creek Bay, two are still on the confidential list; one has been producing since 2010:
  • 18316, 1,197, SHD, Simba 24-30H, 2 sections, middle Bakken, 22 stages (15 sliding sleeves, 7 composite bridge plugs), 2.8 million lbs sand; 39 days to TD; logged samples were saved to be archived by Spotted Hawk Development in McLean, VA; the North Dakota Geological Survey core library in Grand Forks, ND; and, the Tribal Council. Gas ranged between 2,200 - 3,500 units with 4,800 - 5,500 units records; a flare was lit immediately upon entry into the upper Middle Bakken at 10,100 feet MD. The geologist felt this would be "an average to above average well."
Of the eight wells in section 36-151-95, Clarks Creek, one has come off the confidential list:
  • 27040, 2,082, SHD, Thud 12-36H, Clarks Creek, one section, Three Forks B1, 20 stages; 3.7 million lbs sand, t6/14; cum 39K 7/14;
