Eight (8) New Permits -- North Dakota, USA

Producers: EOG (4), SM (2), Sinclair, and Zenergy.

Fields: Elk, Thompson Lake, Glass Bluff, Sanish, and Ambrose.

The four EOG wells will be in the Thompson Lake field: two wells on two separate pads in the same section.

Sinclair has the Sanish permit.

  1. I'm curious how long a drilling permit is for? How long do they have until they need to re-apply for a permit if they haven't drilled yet?

  2. The permit is good for one year and can be renewed annually for $100.

    Leases are worked out between the operator and the mineral rights owners, but generally leases are good for five years. If production is achieved within that five years, the lease remains in place as long as there is production (lease held by production [HBP]).
