XTO's Grinnell Unitized Field -- The GBU

Lots of work left in the Bakken.

See this note, XTO looking to unitize the Grinnell and the Hofflund.

See this post, also.

By current standards, these are all poor wells (some may be mediocre) and need to be re-entered/re-fracked.

Cumulative production in last column is in 100-thousands:

  1. About unitization-- the Hess Beaver Lodge Devonian Unit
When Hess drills a producing well in the Three Forks formation that is in the Beaver Lodge Devonian Unit, each barrel is divided with 16,000 plus acres.
A good deal for Hess! They get there 87.5%. Are many decimals in mineral owners interest.

    1. Much could be said. I was thinking of writing a blog on unitization, pros and cons, but it's a highly emotional issue. It raises a lot of questions. I would love to write a post on unitization -- pros and cons but am not interested in all the push back from readers on both sides of the issue.
