    TeraFab -- August 14, 2026

    Locator: 51410TERAFAB.

Elon Musk's TeraFab will be tracked here.

As planned, the TeraFab will  be a massive, single-campus facility that dwarfs TSMC's Arizona presence in sheer target scale and vertical integration.

Chips: Elon Musk has partnered with Intel -- using its 14A process technology -- to build this fab.

Power: SpaceX is powering the Terafab project using its own dedicated on-site natural gas power plants and large battery arrays, and there is no official confirmation that Caterpillar is involved in the earthmoving. While initial dirt work has commenced at the Grimes County site, specific heavy-machinery contractors handling the site preparation have not been publicly detailed by Tesla or Space

On-site generation: According to announcements from SpaceX (reported via Electrek), the $16.8 billion Phase 1 facility in Grimes County, Texas, will run on its own natural gas power plants.

Battery storage: The facility will also utilize "very large battery arrays" to handle load demands rather than relying on Tesla solar panels or local municipal utility grids.

Location: The mega-factory is rising at the former Gibbons Creek Reservoir site, utilizing the existing reservoir footprint for water storage and cooling needs instead of local groundwater.

    Query:

Based on public information, is it possible Elon Musk will contract at least part of the TeraFab infrastructure with Lancium?

Yet Another Blog On Cerebras -- Another Xilinx? August 14, 2026

    Locator: 51409CEREBRAS.

For more on Cerebras, simply do a word search, "Cerebras," on the blog. The first time I mentioned Cerebras on the blog was October 23, 2022, but perhaps the most interesting mention in the early days was on November 22, 2024

Query: Who is Cerebras most aligned wth, with regard to LCDs, hyperscalers, other chip companies?

    Reply:

Query: Cebebras has partnered with a number of well-known, high-visibility tech companies, from other chip companies, like AMD, and hyperscalers like AWS (Amazon), Meta, and OpenAIs this simply a common phenomenon in the fourth industrial revolution (AI) or is Cerebras something unique? I am unaware of any other chip company producing these large wafers.

    Reply:

Query: with a market cap of only $50 billion after five years+ of existence, Cerebras seems to being lapped by Nvidia, AMD, others. It seems like it would be difficult to compete in a world among competitors with trillion-dollar market caps. Does Cerebras look like a company that might simply be bought, just as AMD bought Xlinx?

    Neoclouds -- August 14, 2026

    Locator: 51408NEOCLOUDS.

    Query:

There has been lots of talk lately on neoclouds. What are neoclouds and who are the top companies in neoclouds and is Oracle a neocloud?

    Reply:

I found that interesting that this query stated Oracle was a hyperscaler. One may want to query again, specifically, “is Oracle a hyperscaler?” I found the answer interesting.

The query: "in another query, "is Oracle a neocloud," Oracle seems to be in clas by itself, somewhere in between a hyperscaler and a neocloud. Even different talking heads on CNBC seem unsure."

    The reply:

You have hit on exactly what makes Oracle’s current strategy so unique. Your observation matches the current consensus among top industry analysts: Oracle operates as a hybrid "Investment-Grade Neocloud," sitting right in the middle of traditional hyperscalers and AI-first neoclouds.
The reason talking heads on CNBC struggle to categorize Oracle is that it intentionally blends the balance sheet and software ecosystem of a massive legacy tech giant with the nimble, GPU-centric playbook of an AI startup.

The Tech Continuum: Where Oracle Sits
To connect the dots, it helps to look at the market as a three-tier spectrum based on infrastructure and strategy:
    FeatureTraditional Hyperscalers
    (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
    Oracle Cloud (OCI)
    (The Hybrid Hybrid)
    Pure Neoclouds
    (CoreWeave, Lambda Labs, Nebius)
Primary FocusGeneral-purpose enterprise IT. Hundreds of virtualized SaaS/PaaS tools.Enterprise databases/apps paired with aggressive, raw AI compute clusters.GPU-as-a-Service optimized strictly for AI training and inference.
    Silicon StrategyProprietary Custom Chips
(AWS Trainium, Google TPU, Azure Maia) competing with Nvidia.
    Chip Neutrality
Eliminated in-house chip design to deploy whatever silicon customers demand fastest.
    Nvidia-First / Pure Play
Built almost entirely around high-density Nvidia GPU clusters.
ArchitectureHeavily virtualized multi-tenant environments.Bare-metal focus with dedicated physical servers and RDMA networking.Strict bare-metal instances; zero hypervisor overhead for maximum compute.
Capital & ScalingSelf-funded via massive cash flows; heavily build their own mega-data centers.Massive corporate balance sheet but aggressively leases data center shells to speed up deployment.High asset-backed debt and project finance; backed by venture capital and anchor tenants.

Why Oracle is Legitimately Part "Neocloud"
Oracle’s modern infrastructure cloud, OCI, was re-architected much later than AWS or Azure. Because they built it with a clean slate, they adopted strategies that look identical to a neocloud:
    1. The "Bare-Metal First" Approach: Traditional hyperscalers slice physical servers into thousands of small virtual machines (VMs). Oracle prioritized bare-metal computing—giving a single tenant raw, unvirtualized access to the physical hardware. This is exactly how neoclouds operate to prevent performance lag during massive AI training runs.
    2. Explicit Chip Neutrality: While Big Tech pours billions into designing custom AI chips to break Nvidia's monopoly, Oracle famously announced it was stepping away from custom chip design. Instead, like a neocloud, Oracle chose to be the fastest, most accommodating landlord for Nvidia's hardware.
    3. The Land Grab Speed: Oracle speeds up its data center footprint by leasing physical buildings and quickly filling them with power, cooling, and GPUs, rather than spending years building facilities from scratch. This allows them to ink massive compute deals with companies like OpenAI and Anthropic.
Why Oracle is Still Safely a "Hyperscaler"
Despite its neocloud-like agility in AI compute, Oracle has anchor traits that pure-play neoclouds completely lack:
    • The Enterprise "Moat": Oracle controls the world’s mission-critical data through its legacy database business and ERP software. A pure neocloud can only sell raw compute. Oracle can sell an AI cluster right next to a bank's core ledger or a healthcare system's database.
    • Balance Sheet Stability: If AI capital expenditure slows down or demand cools, a pure neocloud faces immense pressure because its entire business is collateralized by those GPUs. Oracle has billions in recurring software licensing revenue to cushion its infrastructure buildout.
Ultimately, Oracle has carved out a unique position. It bypassed the slow, heavily virtualized architecture of the older hyperscalers to deliver the raw power of a neocloud—while keeping the massive, investment-grade balance sheet of a tech titan.
