The Myth That Daughter Wells Don't Come In As Good As Parent Wells -- EOG Experience In Clarks Creek -- March 8, 2020

These wells have recently come off the confidential list. The scout ticket information is complete but the file reports have not been updated; still confidential. The only frack data we have is that provided by FracFocus.

Graphics pending, but Clarks Creek has been covered frequently and extensively on the blog. The Clarks Creek oil field is tracked here. Years ago I summarized this oil field as such:
Clarks Creek: sweet spot in the Bakken; western boundary of the reservation; "owned" by EOG; will put 22 wells on one 2560-acre spacing unit (April, 2013, dockets)
The wells:
  • 36416, 2,859, EOG, Clarks Creek 105-0719H, 33-053-09061, Clarks Creek, fracked, 7/20/19 - 8/22/19; 11.5 million gallons of water; 83% water by mass; hydrotreated distillate, 0.05147;

MRO Reporting Staggering Wells In Reunion Bay -- Absolutely Staggering -- November 13, 2018

MRO reports a well today with an IP of 9,061 bbls of crude oil. Based on other wells in the area (see specifically #32975 and #32970 below) one can expect >100,000 bbls over the first full 30 days. For newbies, some Bakken wells drilled back in 2007 still haven't produced 100,000 bbls.

Subject to change, some weeks ago I suggested that the "large Bakken operator of the year, 2018" will be MRO but with these wells and it being, now, November, it's going to be difficult to see another large operator beat out MRO for this honor.

Records: at FAQs, see question #9 for record IPs.

Today, in the Bakken there was one producing well (a DUC) reported as completed:
  • 32973, 9,061, Joshua USA 13-23TFH-2B, Reunion Bay, t9/18; cum 58K over 15 days; extrapolates to 117K over 30 days; sundry forms not yet scanned in; 11.6 million gallons of water; 89% by weight; t9/18; cum 382K 11/19;

Original Post

This is simply staggering. It all starts with #30541 which will be coming off the confidential list this next week. I can't wait to see the completion strategy.

As you go through this post, comments and observations:
  • once they come off the confidential list we will see how many are middle Bakken and how many are Three Forks; if these are all middle Bakken, Katie, bar the door;
  • a lot of pundits suggest operators are running out of drilling locations in the Bakken; not for awhile;
  • "peak oil" folks and "conventional oil" experts and others are telling us that new wells are damaging existing producing wells; well, not so far;
  • just a few thoughts; I'm sure you have many, many more; and,
  • these are simply staggering.
So, let's start. This well will be coming off the confidential list this next week:
  • 30541, 4,871, Bruin, Fort Berthold 151-94-26A-35-4H, 33-053-06668, FracFocus: 12 million gallons of water, 87% water, Antelope, an incredible well; staggering; t6/18; cum 609K 11/19;

Random Update Of Another Incredible MRO Well In Reunion Creek -- October 23, 2018

This well is one of a number of incredible MRO wells. It came off the confidential list in May, 2018, but was a DUC. I don't recall if I have posted the first ten days of production:

This page won't be updated. The other incredible MRO wells on this pad and in this area have been previously noted at a number of posts.

I'm waiting to see what a neighboring well, #19446, will do. It has just come back on line; it's a lousy well; curious if it's improved after neighboring wells have been fracked.
