Week 12: March 18, 2018 -- March 24, 2018

By the end of the week, the Dow had tanked, and WTI traded above $65. Congress passed and the president signed a $1.3 trillion omnibus spending bill.

In the energy sector, it was relatively quiet, and so was the Bakken.

Bakken Production By Field -- January, 2018, Data

Top twenty crude oil producing fields in North Dakota ranked by production.

Disclaimer: the spreadsheet below was done by hand. In a long spreadsheet like this, there will be factual and typographical errors. I did not double-check the data. If this information is important to you, go to the source. Do not make any financial, investment, job, travel, or relationship decisions based on what you read here or think you may have read here.

Five fields produced more than 1 million bbls in one month compared to six fields in November, 2017. Banks oil field dropped off the million-bbl list in December; remained off the list in January. But I assume that will only be temporary.

Antelope-Sanish has jumped to the top of the list; that field has been very active, adding 12 wells in December, 2017, and adding another 3 in January, 2018.

By the way, note the huge increase in production (on a percentage basis) and the number of wells added in Truax oil field. And it's easy to see why: it's a Whiting field. And Whiting has been the most active operator in the Bakken this past year. It has not been updated in a long time, but the Truax oil field is tracked here.

Although it has not been updated in quite some time, Antelope oil field is tracked here.

The spreadsheet below is ranked, in descending order, by production in the month of January, 2018, column 7.
