Refining

Crude oil is the input.

Gasoline and diesel, among others "things," are the output from refineries.

All things being equal, the refiners should be doing really, really well tonight. Their "input" just dropped from $117 to $112.

"Everyone" is talking about "the recessions of the 1980s."

I was completely oblivious to those recessions. Prior to 1984 I was not an investor. I had more important things to do.

Demand Destruction Or Something Else? WTI Just Fell $3.30 -- June 1, 2022

Oil:

• Brend: down 2.8%; down $3.22; trading at $113.
• WII: down 2.9% down $3.30; trading at $112.

Oh-oh. 

Crack spread: new all-time high -- the WTI 3-2-1 crack spread exploded today, ending at $55 / bbl. I don't understand it and if I don't understand it, I know Joe Biden and his advisors don't understand it.

Jim Cramer apparently went "all-in" today on oil. I don't know. I haven't watched CNBC in weeks and have no plans to ever return to the network. Life is too short. 

Drop in price apparently due to "Saudi talk." LOL. Folks still don't get it.

I'm so sick of auto manufacturers playing games. Same with ChargePoint earlier today. Great numbers, sort of, but all due to Europe, not the US. 

Meanwhile, reported earlier, GM slashes prices on the Chevy Bolt despite commodity prices for batteries increasing. Seriously, I would really like a Chevy Bolt but it would be a third car, after the primary cars for my wife and me, then an EV. And even then, not so sure. Having to find an available charger in our apartment complex is simply not something I want to think about every three days.
