First-ever Black Friday NFL game -- will be this year, Friday after Thanksgiving -- Chiefs vs Jets and only available on Amazon Prime Video. 

We've talked about this before. I remember the push-back I got two years ago (?) when I talked about Amazon and its exclusive NFL package. LOL.  

Speaking of the NFL, the Kansas City Chiefs just defeated the Miami Dolphins in Frankfurt, Germany, both teams 6 - 2 going into the game.

Smartest thing NFL has done in years: Sunday morning NFL game in England or Europe. On top of that, these are top teams playing overseas.

This appears to be an overall average, not just residential, but it's not clear. 

The EIA says the average retail rate across the US is 12.36 cents / kWh.

These four charts are from the first link above.

Change, descending: note -- 

• Massachusetts rate increased almost 14% y/y and Rhode Island, at 12% was a close second.
• Reason? Link here.

Price, descending: note -- 

• outliers: Hawaii and Alaska; ignore
• of the top eight, excluding the outliers, six were in New England
• the seventh was almost New England -- New York
• the third was California

Price, ascending: note -- 

• least expensive: Louisiana
• of the lowest nine, five were in the South or Deep South
• of the lowest nine, two were on the west coast
• frustratingly, in this data base, ND can no longer claim really, really low rates; now near the national average (insert sad face here); if accurate -- blame wind / solar
  

Price -- New England: note -- 

• Maine has the lowest rates in New England;
  
• Maine is in the midst of a major change in regulating electric rates in off-year election, November 7, 2023

• the silent generation: $20 trillion; silent generation = 23 million = almost $1 million each.
• the boomer generation: $70 trillion; boomer generation = 78 million = almost $ 1 million each

Boomers:

• born 1946 - 1964
• current ages, 59 years old to 77 years old
• if one assumes the $70 trillion is a snapshot in time, that number could certainly grow significantly over the next 10 years
• ten years from now: 69 years old to 87 years old, by which time the bow wave has peaked, and the numbers start to decrease
• it will not be until 2030 when all boomers will finally be over age 65 -- that's almost ten more years.

• gives all of her social security to the grandchildren.
• gives her IRA RMDs to the grandchildren.

• 30% to the government (taxes)
• 50% to the grandchildren
• 20% back into new investment accounts
  
• cash from pension:
• a minimum of $200 / month for the grandsons in an investment account for their Disneyland/Lego trips
• they are three years old now
• Legoland, San Diego: when they are eight years old
• Disneyland, Los Angeles: when they are twelve years old
• a minimum of $500 / month for Sophia's investment account for college; starting next year that will go to a minimum of $1,000 / month
• $1,000 / month to younger daughter in cash
• $1,000 / month to older daughter in services, cash
  
• no money is taken out of investments except RMDs
• to date, no money has been taken out of dividend stream for these "gifts"; that could change in the out years, but I doubt it since RMDs will most likely cover everything
