I Apologize.

I apologize to all my loyal readers. I didn't post much today because I was on the road.

I'm home now and watching the counter; it's going crazy. Lots of folks checking in. I apologize for disappointing them, not posting much today.

And to make it worse, come Sunday, I will be on Amtrak for two (or more days) from Boston to the Bakken.  And I won't have much chance to post.

Hang in there. I hope to have lots to post when I get back to the Bakken.

But, wow, the number of folks checking in is quite phenomenal. Thank you, all.

The price of oil drops a couple of bucks today and WHX goes up (pays 13%). Can't complain. EEP goes up (pays 7%) on a day that the market goes down. What can I say? Energy companies "flying."

For all the truckers, and especially for my Australian readers:

The Lights Are Blindin' Me, Slim Dusty

Curious how to value a pure-play company in the Bakken? Multiply net acres by $5,000, as a starter.

Average Hourly Earnings Increase By 4 Cents

The Wall Street Journal was able to find a silver lining in the horrendous jobless report this morning.

First, the headline news:
  • Consensus: analysts expected a loss of 60,000 jobs.
  • Actual: loss of 130,000 jobs.
  • Average number of jobs added each month over the past seven months: 100,000.
  • Unemployment number stays at 9.5%.
Now the good news: average hourly earnings increased by four (4) cents; now up to $22.59.

I can't make this stuff up.

[How does this tie in to "All Bakken All The Time"? Well, the price of oil (Brent spot) dropped $2.00 following that report. Just saying.]
