I have a tag, "Road To Mexico."
A theme on the blog: Mexico is hurtling toward the same situation we see in Venezuela.
How interesting to see an op-ed in the WSJ yesterday: Mexico flirts with suicide.

What If Green Energy Isn't The Future -- For The Archives
Minnesota:
- Xcel's plan announced May 20, 2019
- coal-free by 2030
- nuclear-free by 2040
- nuclear currently accounts for 23% of Minnesota's electricity consumption
- Minnesota nuclear; two plants, nameplate capacity
- Monticello: 671 MW
- Prairie Island: 1,096 MW
- coal
- last two coal plants (to close by 2030)
- Sherco #3 (Sherburne County, unit #3): 876 MW
- Allen S. King: 511 MW
- Natural gas plant expansion
- Mankata Energy: was 415 MW; expansion to 760 MW by 2019
- Renewable energy plans, to add:
- solar: add 3,000 MW
- wind: add 1,850 MW
- total nuclear, 2019: 1,767 MW
- total coal that will close: 1,387 MW
- in other words, closing the coal plants will almost be the same as closing the two nuclear plants which account for 23% of Minnesota's electricity generating capacity
- I hope North Dakota and South Dakota are watching
- it's agreed that the Xcel plant will not be cheap but it won't be much more than rate of inflation
