Mid-Day Thoughts And Observations -- July 27, 2026

Locator: 51274ARCHIVES.

Public utility: OpenGPT? This makes the nation's largest large data center in Ohio very, very interesting. Could it be made universal but regulated and charged like electricity? Or water? Or any of the other utilities. Think market share: ChatGPT: 50%; Google Gemini: 25%.

ChatGPT (OpenAI) holds the dominant market share for standalone AI assistants, though Google Gemini is rapidly closing the gap. Globally, ChatGPT commands roughly 46% to 54% of the chatbot market share, while Google Gemini holds approximately 27% to 28%.

Explosive diarrhea: now, parsley and cilantro are being looked along with iceberg lettuce. In early states affected by lettuce, all iceberg lettuce has been removed but now cases seem to be increasing again.

YouTube / Paramount: starting in 2027, subscribe to YouTube premium and one gets Paramount catalogue for free on YouTube with ads. Around $20 / month: YouTube Premium individual plans cost $15.99 per month when signed up directly through a web browser. Other available tiers include the Family plan at $26.99 per month, Premium Lite at $8.99 per month, and YouTube Music individual at $11.99 per month.

Porsche: this is interesting.

    • IGRC is now independent, running its own "government"
    • US has paused for the past three days and apparently willing to pause for an extended period;
    • IGRC has returned to firing drones on its neighbors
  • Iran: Persian conflict
  • the rest of the mideast: Arab

    • rather, this is IRGC's message to the "official government of Iran."
