Just Practicing For 2035 -- California -- August 31, 2022

The grid can't handle it. Summer is practically over and the California grid is unable to take it. It's official. Link here.

California's grid operator issued a statewide Flex Alert on Wednesday, asking residents to voluntarily limit their electricity use from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in anticipation of increased energy demands with temperatures expected to soar above 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

The California Independent System Operator, which runs the energy grid, warned of possible power shortages during that time that could lead to blackouts, at the start of what is expected to be the year's worst heat wave, lasting almost a week.

Electricity use will build over the next week to top at 48 GW on Monday and Tuesday, which would be the highest demand on the state grid since 2017, according to California ISO.

California Governor Gavin Newsom also is asking residents to conserve electricity, warning that Sunday and Monday will be the most challenging days for the grid.

    1. Well, certainly, Governor Newsom will be on the stage debating ... for the nomination ....

  2. At my age, the debates are a life-time away. However, if I make it I'm thinking Gov. Newsom will eat VP Harris' lunch! Let me count the ways...(no contest!)

    2. Darn, once again you are right ! VP (aka Hyena) Harris' verbal salad will baffle the common man/women/whatever...
Hearkening unto the tried and true adage..."if you can't dazzle them with your brilliance, blind them with bullshit ".
      Worked so far...

    3. VP Harris will keep the current White House press secretary -- it will become "must-watch" TV.

    4. Luv it! Just when I thought cable news couldn't get any worse, you convinced me to "Stay Tuned". It really is painful to watch her current performances. Why must we all endure this, just to endure her Woke Nonsense? Has the Left no shame?

    5. On a serious note, in the military, we used to call such people as the current White House press secretary "bullet-proof." Due to her unique personal qualifications, she cannot be fired by the administration nor transferred to any other position without her "okay." Like her predecessor, she has that White House press secretary job until she decides she no longer wants it.

    6. Already, I'm starting to levitate with all the smoke blown up my butt during her current press conferences! If you are right, I'll be in orbit higher than Musk's Starlink satellites when the "good times" come my way.... (I'm not holding my breath).

    7. Yup, she is "bullet-proof". However, I'm inclined to think her (I'll circle back) predecessor may have actually had a clue; this person??? Not so much! How in the world did we ever get into this position? It is just plain painful to watch her fumble, bumble through a session. Lord help us!

    8. I have no idea how serious journalists can sit through the White House press conferences.
