The One-Two-Three Punch -- Russia -- April 24, 2022

Sanctions, link here:

  • Russian oil exports discombobulated;
    • short-term: Russian oil export routes in flux
    • medium-term: banking system to facilitate trades in oil in disarray
    • long-term: Russia oil sector needs western technology more than western technology needs Russia

Folks who question the validity of this chart simply have no clue.

Question: with western technology now avoiding Russia, does that improved the supply chain for the rest of the world?

  1. chart states "unsanctioned oil fields". And wonder why these get off scott free?

    1. My apartment lease (one unit, about 1500 square feet) runs to about 30 pages long. I can only imagine how long the EU agreements are with regard to sanctions on Russia. EU cannot shut off all oil from Russia overnight -- so they apparently have come to some agreement -- what oil from what fields is still free to flow. It may have to do with logistics (where the pipelines are) as with anything else. By the way, that's a "Latvian Blend" out there which because it's Russian oil blended with Latvian oil (50/50) it is not considered Russian oil so is not sanctioned. So, as with everything, lots of loopholes.
