Earnings -- 1Q22

Note: this is, hands down, one of the most boring things I to do each quarter. I doubt anyone really looks at it but the day I quit doing this will be the day I miss posting something important. The word "important" is used loosely. Very loosely.

This is so boring that I actually didn't record a thing for 1Q20, but that was two years ago. Maybe things have changed. LOL.

This is linked at the top of the sidebar at the right during earnings season. After earnings -- pretty much after XOM and Apple posts their earnings -- this post will move back into obscurity.

NOG: record first quarter 2022 results; updates guidance.

EOG: first quarter results; adds quantitative guidance to cash return; declares a $1.80 / share special dividend.

SRE: May 5th, before the bell. Consensus: $3.42 billion; $2.79 EPS -- a decline of 5.4% from prior-year figure.

Diamondback here

Devon here and here.

Airlines: earnings and shares surge.

E&Ps: record earnings, free cash flow. RBN Energy.

NFLX: shares crater, drop 35% after earnings call. EPS beat by 21% but revenue misses by 1% -- this should have been good news but for the first time in ten years, Netflix reports a drop in the number of subscribers, dropped 200,000. In the big scheme of things, not that bad, but traders/investors did not agree and the shares dropped 35% on the news. Wow.

BKR: another disappointing quarter

SCHW: disappointing results. Stock drops almost 10%.

TSM: crushes 1Q22 targets, guides higher.

BAC: beats; 80 cents vs 75 cents; $23.33 billion vs $23.2 billion; net loan charge-offs, dropped 52% from a year earlier to $392 million.
