EOG -- EOR? Parshall -- December 26, 2021

The well:

  • 27194, 504/off line, EOG, Austin 86-36H, Parshall, Bakken NOS, 1 section, 20 stages, 6.3 million lbs, t6/14; cum 154K 2/20; cum 164K 9/21; this will be another well to follow in light of current events.

There are three wells in this immediate area, a bit to the east:

  • 17040, 1,239, EOG, Austin 26-36H, Parshall, t11/08; cum 567K 10/21; this will be another well to follow in light of current events.

On same pad:

  • 27193, TA, EOG, Austin 87-36H, Parshall, t6/14; cum 120K 9/18; went off line, 9/18;
  • 27194, see above.

So, what's going on?

27193, a sundry form received November 15, 2019 -- two years ago, with "notice of intent, start date: November 20, 2019"
EOG Resources, Inc., respectfully requests an extension to keep the well in short-term temporarily abandoned (TA) status per the attached procedure:
1. Future use: the referenced well is drilled in EOG's core acreage and is being evaluated for future EOR projects. If the well has not been utilized .... by end of year 2021 for in-fill development, a long-term procdure to TA or P&A will be submitted ..."

If the EOR plan had fallen through and EOG was not ready to plug and abandon this well, there would be no reason to take #27194 off line.

Graphic: note the location of this area relative to the rest of the Bakken -- it's on the far eastern fringe.
