Highlights Of The Williston Wire

Headlines only, no links. It is easy to subscribe to The Williston Wire.

New hotel to open in Williston: Dakota Landing residence hotel; 257 rooms.

Williston-based Nordak Properties, LLC, will have a groundbreaking ceremony on July 10, 2013, for its newest project, Epping Ranch; 250-acre development.

A new Cash Wise grocery store begins construction in Tioga. I believe this has been posted on the blog some time ago that Cash Wise was coming to Tioga.

Home of Economy has announced it will open its largest store to day; 87,000 square feet; Jamestown. Think the $2 billion fertilizer factory coming to Jamestown.

BNSF forced to make record-setting capital improvements due to all the oil that is being shipped. I discussed that two or three years ago that this would happen; naysayers said it was unlikely that rail would play a significant role in the Bakken.

Production should hit 850,000 bopd by year-end, 2013.

  1. I did not see where Lynn Helms made the comment that you quoted above.. I did see this:

"While harsh winter weather smacked North Dakota in January, causing a 4.2 percent drop in its daily oil production, the state’s drilling rig count has been inching upwards. As of March 15, 188 rigs were operating in the state. North Dakota’s top oil official, Lynn Helms, says if the rig count stays around that level, production should exceed the 850,000 barrels of oil per day projected by the state for the biennium."

    The biennium meaning 2015.

    1. You are correct. I was going through The Williston Wire too quickly. I correct the original post.

The Williston Wire quotes a story that we are on track to hit 850,000 bopd by the end of 2013. In fact, under worse case scenario we will hit 850,000 at end of November (but that Director's Cut won't be out until January/February of 2014.

Under better circumstances, we will hit 850,000 bopd by end of August, 2013. I am quite confident we will hit 850,000 bopd by end of August; that Director's Cut will be out in October/November, 2013, or thereabouts. The most recent Director's Cut, released in June, was for the month of April.

  2. I think it's still in error; production should hit 850,000 by 2015 (not sure when in 2015.)
