Random Video of the BHI Complex West of Williston

A reader alerted me to this video of the new Baker Hughes complex west of Williston. This was an impressive building when it was going up; probably the biggest construction job in the Bakken at the time.

The first "new" BHI complex west of Williston

Unfortunately the video does not do the complex justice. I wish they had taken more video of the complex while it was being built and/or more of it now.

The reader noted, as have others, that BHI is putting up another complex "across the street." Apparently, this second complex is even bigger and more impressive.

  1. I'm not familiar with all the differnt branches of these big companies, but something I noticed is even though they build these huge complexes like Baker Huges, Weatherford, Halliburton, Schlumberger in Williston, Williston still has multiple locations for these companies. Each still have 3-5 other locations scattered around Williston. Why don't they consolidate there other locations into their new complexes? Must be a reason they don't?

  2. I was in Williston 2 weeks ago, and drove past Baker Hughes west side complex. Their new complex going up across the street is pretty impressive as well. It doesn't have the sprawling equipment yard like the one in this video, but the new office building is similar in design, except larger and it is attached to a huge service building to the west side of the office building. Too bad they didn't combine the size and style of these two office buildings and put the office downtown or along a street where the general public could see them. I am curious when a developer will construct a highrise or office building to house the offices of all the new companies moving to town?

    1. I agree. I would like to Statoil or COP build a glass-window high rise where JC Penney is now located or where Hedderich's is located. Smile.
