How Fitting: One Last Permit For 2013 -- Whiting

Bakken Operations

Wells coming off confidential list today and over the weekend were reported earlier; see sidebar at the right.

One last permit for 2013:
  • 24692, loc, Whiting, Faiman 34-33PH, St Anthony, Dunn County
So, "we" finish the year with 2,521 oil and gas permits, though a fair number were canceled. This does not include salt water disposal wells.

    1. Ah, the day is not over. And I updated a lot of old snarky political posts.

But yes, if I'm kept busy I don't have time for as many snarky political posts.

I'll be back to my old self by the end of the week.

  2. Well Done- The old saying you can't please everyone and if you try you will please no one. Can't wait for another full year of Apple, For Investors Only, Not a Bakken Story: Climate commentary, Notes to the Granddaughters, and so much more. Have a good and blessed year.

    1. Thank you. I will try to maintain a balance. But I'm free this a.m. watching the Rose Parade, so lots of time to post non-Bakken stories.

  3. Do you have a count as to the number of canceled permits? What was the total number of permits actually issued and active?

    1. Total number of permits issued as noted: 2,521. This does not include salt water disposal wells.

At the moment it appears about 30 permits were cancelled, but I haven't completed the list. And, of course, on any given day, an issued permit could be canceled.
