  1. Is this the first well Chesapeake fracked in the Bakken or just the first well in Golden Valley? Curious where you got the information about Chesapeake fracking and the number of tanks on site?

    1. The information came from the Rocky Mountain Oil Journal. I can't answer the first question; my gut feeling is that this is the first fracked by CHK in Golden Valley but not the first fracked by CHK in North Dakota. CHK has a number of wells on confidential status and they recently got a new permit, suggesting they have fracked other wells with results good enough to go after more permits.

  3. Thank you for continuing to update us about southern activity. I think it's a new twist on ND oil, and will add some excitement in the future.

    1. Thank you for taking time to comment. I am very eager to see how this plays out. My hunch: some great wells. Bonuses were quite high for some fields in the southwest last year.

  4. Tthis is just the begining, Chesapeake is gearing up to have a huge drilling program. They are probably behind the waste site for drilling fluids and a lot of other companies being brought into the southwestern part of the basin. They too will drill off of Eco pads with multiple wells on 2560 acre units 12-14 wells of of one Eco pad. Stark County better get ready real soon for a boom that's in the making now.
