Random Comment On Cost of Fracking -- The Bakken, North Dakota, USA

According to Oasis' most recent presentation, the cost of a 36-stage fracked well:
  • Ceramic/sand mix: $10 million
  • Sand only frack: $9.2 million
Oasis Well Services - in-house pressure pumping
  • operations to begin 1Q12
  • will result in savings of $0.8 to $1.0 million/well on 20 net wells/year

      1. Article from Dickinson press. MDU planning to build $500 diesel refinery near Dickinson. ND drank 1 billion gallons of diesel last year, 1 rig takes 3000 gallons per day? Wow.

          The odds of an oil refinery near Dickinson is somewhere between Nil and Zilch, and I think Nil just pulled ahead.

      2. Why not convert the drilling rigs over to propane-butane or natural gas we run rigs on butane in the 1950s and 60s
