UP 6% today.

Original Post
Steve Jobs is smiling in iHeaven.

Crushes estimates.

37 million iPhones sold. The highest estimate I had seen was 30 million and that was raised in the last few days.

Apple computer sales up 60% in Asia.

Profit margins blow away estimates: 45%.

New York Times drools.

Stay stoked.

  1. Last weekend I was listening to http://www.komando.com/ radio show while driving around. Someone asked about Apple computers with a followup question about "Applecare" service plans.

She didn't seem for or against Apple versus Mac but mentioned that Applecare could be good because hard drives seem to fail after a year and a half. I didn't catch weather this was about Apple desktops or laptops. It was not the mobile devices.

Even a decade ago computer hard drives had a 50,000 working hour mean operating life.

  2. I have no idea what she's talking about. I have never had an Apple hard drive fail and I keep Apple computers a lot longer than a couple of years....knock on wood.

I listen to komando periodically. I find her not particularly helpful/knowledgeable regarding PCs, and she has no credibility in the Apple world, as far as I know. She grew up with PCs, and spent most of those early years talking geekspeak and worrying about viruses, neither of which have ever been part of the Apple village.
