Bakken East of Minot? -- Bakken, North Dakota, USA

I have a hunch that by the end of 2013, we will hear that there is significant recoverable oil east of Minot. And significantly east of Minot.

I can't post more at this time, but I want to lay down the date-time stamp if this turns out to be accurate.

  1. Does the Bakken oil potential include the Bottineau County area that is north of Minot. If so my (heart skipped a beat) with the possibility of significant oil production from this giant oil formation.

  2. The general consensus is that it remains the Spearfish formation that is the target of interest in Bottineau County.

Information I received yesterday suggests that if the Bakken extends east of Minot, it will head east and southeast, and not into Bottineau.

But, with the way things are moving, I would not discount anything.

By the way, I'm sure the experts laughed out loud when they read my note yesterday about recoverable oil east of Minot, but my source is very, very reliable. I just can't say any more than that right now. But the general consensus is that there is no Bakken oil east of Minot. The general consensus is not always accurate.
