Nine (9) New Permits -- Bakken, North Dakota, USA

Daily activity report:

Drillers: WLL (2), Hess (2), Petro-Hunt (2), BEXP, Sinclair, Enerplus

Fields: Alger, Parshall, Bell, Gaylord, Manitou, Spotted Horn, Antelope, Eagle Nest

The Bell field permit is WLL's. Click on Bell field on the sidebar at the right.

Otherwise an unremarkable activity report.

  1. One of WLL's permits listed here is in the Gaylord field SE of Belfield, which I belive is an additional permit on top of the one that is currently being drilled on that 1280 acre spacing. I think this maybe the first instance of multiple permits on the same spacing for the block of whiting leases SE of Belfield.

  2. Great pick-up! I think you are correct. I will look at this again over the weekend.

  3. I think you are talking about permits/file numbers 20912 (a new permit) and 20028, a well that is nearing total depth. The 20028 well is running south; both wells will be spud in section 16-T139N-R99W, the Gaylord oil field.

  4. By the way, two wells already in the Gaylord:
15134, short lateral, Denbury Encore, Hanson 41-19, Madison formation, 140,000 bbls to date; IP of 33, test date 8/2001; still active, 1,000 bbls/month; and,
15302, short lateral, Whiting, Hanson 41-24H, Madison formation, 20K bbls; permanently abandoned; test date 8/2002.
