Original Post

A reader alerted me to these wells. I posted data on these wells earlier, but this is one month later. Note the crude oil production increase in both wells, though it is incredible in the first well posted below.

One-hundred-fifty-thousand bbls in 3.5 months is nice, but how about 180,000 bbls in the same amount of time?

I wonder if these wells are choked back; look at all the natural gas that is being flared? I wonder if any of the mineral owners are writing to EOG to shut in these wells until a natural gas processing plant can be built. With permits and environmental reviews that should only take a couple of years. And, of course, shutting in the well is no guarantee that the well will still be this good once it's brought back on line. Whatever.

  1. I don't think the mineral owners would want to shut the well off .. That monthly check must be nice. Smile.
My question is are there any wells close to the van hook 30-1113h that may help it produce this much?

    1. 1. With regard to shutting the well in: that was tongue-in-cheek. I was thinking of the class action suit some mineral owners have brought against their operator(s).

      2. There are several wells in the general area, but it's not the neighboring wells accounting for this; it's the 60 stages and 12 million lbs of sand or whatever EOG used.

    1. Thank you for your kind comments, and thank you for taking time to write.

No newspaper but THE book on fracking will be coming out on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 -- this next week. I will have a special post on this book. Seriously.

  3. I sure hope the other operators....well at least Statoil........learns from this.

  4. I greatly appreciate your efforts on this blog, Mr. Oksul. It has been only the past several weeks that I discovered your site and I am certainly glad for it. Mike Filloon just wrote wrote (Oct 20, 2013, I believe) how EOG is trying to frac with much wider, shorter-in-length fissures and are having extremely positive results. My guess is this approach will allow closer spacing of laterals, with the added result of more wells per pad. If so, the extraction rate as well as the ongoing recovery curve will benefit. Death to the Red Queen!!

    1. Thank you for your kind words.

If you want to see how "wild" this might get, you should scan through the hearing dockets:
