Incredibly Nice Update by "David"

Link here to a great update about the Bakken.

On track for 2,800 wells to be drilled in North Dakota this year.

2,000 wells/year for 15 - 18 years (the Bakken/Three Forks).

  1. Bruce, Does this estimate include Slope County. We are unleased & wondering if our day will come.
Thank you for the blog, read it almost hourly.

    1. Yes, I think so -- his estimate includes ALL of North Dakota.

Generally speaking, when Lynn Helms says "x" number of wells will be drilled, he is referring to all wells, targeting all formations in the Williston Basin.

It is interesting that Slope County doesn't have much activity; I assume it is only a matter of time. Slope County reminds me a bit of Divide County, just at the opposite end. I never thought Divide County, that far north, would be doing as well as it is. I always thought the oil activity would migrate farther to the southwest of North Dakota. That just shows you how little I know about the Williston Basin. Smile.

And, thank you for your kind comments. It's been fun.
