New Yorkers To Florida -- Driver's Licenses -- Switch -- August, 2022 -- Largest In History For Any Single Month -- Covid Pandemic Is Over -- Biden

Talk about mis-reading a data-point.

Some observers had speculated that the outbound flow would ease with COVID receding and cities opening back up.

The most mis-read data point ever.

The linked story.

The COVID-driven rush of New Yorkers into Florida has turned into a stampede — with no end in sight.

A record-breaking number of Empire State residents switched their driver’s licenses to the Sunshine State version last month, according to a Post analysis of Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles data.

A total of 5,838 New Yorkers made the switch in August — the highest recorded number for a single month in history, the numbers show.

Year to date, 41,885 New Yorkers have handed over their licenses after moving south, a torrid pace that’s pointing to a new annual record.

Some observers had speculated that the outbound flow would ease with COVID receding and cities opening back up.

The number one reason folks go through the trouble of changing driver's licenses from New York to Florida to have residency proof for IRS and state taxing agencies.

Most Self-Absorbed / Obnoxious / Self-Centered Commercial Ever?

The grammy-winning singer, rapper and flutist is the face of Instacart’s largest-ever campaign, supporting its new ‘Carts’ tool.

Those who do not know Lizzo -- and there may be a few -- will see this as a welfare queen ordering on-line from her bubble bath.

And even for the rest of us who know Lizzo, this is hedonism at its worse when middle-class Americans -- of all races -- are truly hurting due to inflation.

Perhaps an emphasis on cheaper prices might have been a better idea.

Also Obnoxious

Whether you love or hate Apple, these headlines are obnoxious. On so many levels. It should be noted that CNBC is a Microsoft company. Who is it for a journalist (or any person, for that matter) to tell us what we need / don't need; want / don't want?

Just as obnoxious: those headlines / stories purporting to tell us "everything" we need to know about something. Amazing how bright these folks are to know everything about something about which I need to know.
