Random Update on Slawson Permits -- The Williston Basin, North Dakota, USA

Slawson has always been one operator that has intrigued me. They always seem to get good wells, but it seemed I had not heard much from Slawson lately. Below is the information from my database. I'm sure there are some errors, but it's probably pretty close.

Lots of interesting data points from the wells/permits below.

The first data point that jumps out at me: this is still just the beginning of the Bakken boom. One can't really get much information from permits issued in 2011. The real data begins for the permits issued in 2010, and those are barely two years old; the latest ones in 2010 would now be barely 15 months old. I consider a well is well on its way to being paid for when it crosses the 100,000 bbl cumulative milestone. Look at all the wells whose permits were issued in 2010 which have now reached 100,000 bbls cumulative, and to think that Bakken wells will continue to produce for 30 years (albeit at declining rates). The legacy formations (Madison, Red River, Duperow) often took 20 years to reach 100,000 bbls.

The second data point: look at all the wells still not on a pump (F).
