Back To 207 -- Ties Record For Active Rigs

I have a miserably slow wi-fi connection, so not much blogging until later.

    1. ATT is asking users to move to wi-fi to minimize stress on 3G.

I always buy lunch, coffee, or dinner, wherever I use "free" wi-fi.

I never download huge files which slow down the wi-fi. At this particular location, students (and perhaps, professors) are downloading huge files, slowing things down. (I notice that the proprietor is now suggesting to some non-buying folks that they have spent a bit more time than necessary here.)

And my blog remains entirely free. Enjoy.

      Good luck to all.

By the way, that brings up an interesting point. About four years ago, I mentioned to an Apple employee that someday wi-fi would be free everywhere. He said it would never happen; too much money to be make from subscription. It turned out that capitalism/free market resulted in free wi-fi virtually everywhere. Some "land-locked" areas control it (LAX is noteworthy for requiring credit card for T-Mobile) but it's almost impossible not to find free wi-fi if one looks. For the longest time I did not visit Dunkin' Donuts, going to Starbucks instead, because of free wi-fi. Dunkin' Donuts now has free wi-fi, at least in my neighborhood, and now I walk the two blocks to Dunkin' Donuts when I want a quick coffee; otherwise, down to Starbucks -- a 20-minute walk, or Harvard Square Starbucks, a $1.25 bus ride. When driving cross-country (or hitchhiking cross-country) I always look for McDonald's for it's free wi-fi. I don't know if Burger King (which I prefer) has free wi-fi.

    1. Thank you for your support. I wanted to reply in the manner that you did, but I knew I couldn't say it as well as others. Smile. Thank you.

By the way, you are correct. I pay for more internet connection than most: two iPad accounts, home cable, etc. I would assume that less than 10% of US population pays for more internet connectivity than I do.

Regardless, ATT is asking high users to use wi-fi. I love it.

Thank you for taking time to comment. I love the blog and I love the readers who appreciate it.

By the way, all of a sudden the wi-fi is very, very fast all of a sudden; the students/professors downloading large files must have moved back to the lecture hall.
