BRK -- I'm A Believer -- November 30, 2025

Locator: 49580BRK.

I've flip-flopped on BRK so many times, I've lost track.

For the past year, maybe longer, I've had a lot of negative posts about BRK.

So, I was curious. Was I missing something? If so, what was I missing?

I spent about four hours with ChatGPT this afternoon, asking very, very specific questions with regard to BRK and after those four hours, the short answer: I'm a believer.

About two years ago, I pivoted from energy to tech. Now, upwards of 60% of any new money will be invested in BRK.

Disclaimer
Brief Reminder

Briefly:

  • I am inappropriately exuberant about the Bakken and I am often well out front of my headlights. I am often appropriately accused of hyperbole when it comes to the Bakken.
  • I am inappropriately exuberant about the US economy and the US market.
  • I am also inappropriately exuberant about all things Apple.
  • See disclaimer. This is not an investment site.
  • Disclaimer: this is not an investment site. Do not make any investment, financial, job, career, travel, or relationship decisions based on what you read here or think you may have read here.
  • All my posts are done quickly: there will be content and typographical errors. If something appears wrong, it probably is. Feel free to fact check everything.
  • If anything on any of my posts is important to you, go to the source. If/when I find typographical / content errors, I will correct them.
  • Many posts are not proofread for several days after they've been posted.
  • Reminder: I am inappropriately exuberant about the Bakken, US economy, and the US market.
  • I am also inappropriately exuberant about all things Apple.
  • And now, Nvidia, also. I am also inappropriately exuberant about all things Nvidia. Nvidia is a metonym for AI and/or the sixth industrial revolution.
  • I've now added Broadcom to the disclaimer. I am also inappropriately exuberant about all things Broadcom.
  • And Oracle.

Back to BRK.

It all started with a reader noting that today was the last day of the 2025 US/Atlantic ocean hurricane season  (I guess that's redundant -- Pacific storms are called typhoons -- whatever).

I've completely misread BRK for the past year or so. I assume I've misread / misunderstood BRK for as long as I've invested but this year things have really changed.

I'm not going to go through it now, but I want the date-time stamp for myself when I flip-flopped again.

This time: I'm all infor BRK.

Now that I know what I know about BRK, I doubt my thoughts about BRK will ever change (again). We'll see. I hope I'm not wrong.

Chubb has two things going for it with regard to BRK

  • Chubb has the same DNA as BRK (primary insurance and reinsurance);
  • among those companies with that same DNA, Chubb is the "best of the rest."

There is a huge negative: PacifiCorp. But, from my perspective, it's not a financial issue; it's a "PR" issue.

NFL Football Coverage

Perhaps the top five color analysts: Cris Collinsworth, Greg Olsen, Tom Brady, Troy Aikman, and Tony Romo.

My preference has always been Collinsworth, but he's getting long in the tooth.

My two least favorites: Troy Aikman and Tom Brady.

In his niche, a different niche than Collinsworth, my favorite is Tony Romo by a long shot.

Collinsworth and Romo would not work well as a team in the broadcast booth. If two NFL games were playing simultaneously, one with Tony Romo in one booth; Collinsworth in the other booth, I'm not sure whom I would prefer. It might be Romo by a hair.
