U-Shaped, Doubling Back, 2-Mile Proposed CLR Well In Beaver Lodge -- June 28, 2025

Locator: 48611B.
Locator: 48611DOUBLINGBACK.

From Geoff Simon's "quick connects" this past week: Trending in the Williston Basin: ND sees more U-turn well permits -- Hart Energy

From the NDIC hearing dockets, July, 2025. Link here. It is possible this is not the first such proposal in the Bakken but it is the first that I've seen, but I often miss a lot of stuff.

This is a case, not a permit:

31876, CLR, Beaver Lodge-Bakken, create an overlapping 640-acre unit, two wells, each two miles in length, with the surface locations approx 3520 feet from the east line and 100 feet from the north line of section 1-155-95, allowing the well to be drilled 180°S, then turning the well bore approx 180° and then allowing the well be drilled at an approx 360°north with a well terminus location approximately 1500 feet from the west line and 150 feet from the north line of the same section, Williams.

CLR wells in that area are the Vera wells.

Map (disclosure: could be entirely wrong; I often misread things. Will be corrected if necessary):
