This is quite incredible. Think about this: Doug Burgum will have two roles. He will wear two hats. He will be secretary of a department in the Deep State as well as head a new "national energy council." By any other name, he will be the nation's energy czar. 

He (Doug Burgum) and Kamala Harris had similar political trajectories, though at opposite ends of the political spectrum and arising / coming out of entirely different sectors. One was a businessman well versed in information technology; the other, a liberal attorney general.

What does it mean to chair the (new) National Energy Council? 

In his new position, Burgum will lead a new National Energy Council, which will give the North Dakota governor a seat on the National Security Council and “oversee the path to U.S. ENERGY DOMINANCE,” Trump said in a statement.

It's impossible to read everything, but in thirty minutes, a very close reading of the introduction to that book helped me understand what my Indian friend told me some months ago when she responded to a question I had asked about "India." 

I don't know if an outsider completely new to the topic of "India" would get much out of this introduction. Perhaps the introduction made sense to me since I had just completed reading an "entire" history of India:

• India: A History, John Keay, c. 2000, 2010. 

It is impossible to summarize -- take out of context -- all that was written in that introduction but this is what stood out for me, page xxxiii:
