From A Jack To A King -- From 900 Bbls/Month To 9,000 Bbls/Month -- The Bakken Never Ceases To Amaze Me -- June 22, 2024

Locator: 48021B.

BR has a couple of active rigs in Pershing oil field:

I was curious -- you can usually spot an old well -- when you see a singleton in an active area ... so I was curious -- what's going on with that singleton in the screenshot below?

Zooming in:

The well of interest is 15 years old and barely getting started based on that jump in production, see below:
  • 17371, 695, BR, Parrish 1-31H, Pershing, t2/09; cum 239K 4/24;

The horizontal to the west, just 528 feet from the well of interest is:

  • 37933, A/loc, BR, Parrish 4A MBH, Pershing, t4/24; cum 27K in first month of prodution.

Production data.

First, the 15-year-old well, recent production.

Now, let's see when that horizontal well to the west was drilled.

Note the dates.

It looks like another example of a daughter well going to do a whole better than the parent well, something "experts" say isn't supposed to happen.

The Bakken never ceases to amaze me.
