I may have to re-read Joseph Conrad's Heart Of Darkness.
I wonder if folks seriously following the Israelis going back into Rafah might gain something from the movie, or better yet, some analyses.
The three main characters: Kilgore, Willard, and Kurtz.
I had forgotten that Kilgore was a lieutenant colonel.
These YouTube analyses raise more questions.
It would be interesting to know more about Kilgore's history. He's more interesting than Kurtz. How many tours has he served in Vietnam? Was he a sociopath from the very beginning, or did multiple tours make him who he is?
A reminder:
It is the extraordinary saga of Coppola and his crew and actors-who included Marlon Brando, Robert Duvall, Harvey Keitel, Martin Sheen, Dennis Hopper, and Harrison Ford -- battling hurricanes in the jungles of the Philippines, the calamity of a lead actor's heart attack, and crises both psychological and financial . . . in the end giving rise to a modern film classic.
Harrison Ford:
Some dates:- The Doors, "The End": 1967
