When I read these stories I almost get the feeling that folks forget how much oil the Bakken is producing.

The Bakken is currently producing about 1.2 million bopd.

Folks may want to do the math:

Numbers and assumptions with regard to the Bakken:

• 1.2 million bopd
• 365 days / year
• $70 /bbl
• another 20 years of production at 1.2 million bopd

Also:

• 1.2 million bopd
• 30 years of production

The Bakken?

• CLR was the biggest; now Chord?
• Oasis + Whiting + Enerplus
  
• and Chord, to be bought by someone else?
