So Many Story Lines -- February 11, 2023

Updates

February 12, 2023: 4th UFO shot down by USAF; this one by an F-16, over Lake Huron, over state of Michigan. So many story lines, so few details. With so few details, it means one thing: Washington hasn’t gotten its story “straight” yet. Even US Congress hasn’t been briefed.

Later, 9:14 p.m. CST: another UFO over Portland and a NOTAM released for Montana.

The CLR Gale wells are tracked here.

This page won't be updated. This well is tracked here. Is something going on? This well was taken off line almost two years ago, back in 4/19. Now, almost two years later, the well was brought back on line for 19 days, 12/20, producing 1,167 bbls of oil:

  • 24735, 981, Hess, LK-Pohribnak-147-96-16H-5, 1 section, t10/13; cum 221K 6/19; cum 223K 12/20; cum 243K 12/22;

It was noted:

  • December 4, 2020: CLR activity in this field, update.

There's a lot of activity about four miles south of the LK-Pohribak wells. See the graphics at that link posted December 4, 2020 (link). At that time, about three months ago, there was only one rig in section 32-147-96. Now there are four rigs:

These wells run west to east on one pad:

  • 37373, conf-->drl/A, CLR, Gale 5-32H, Cedar Coulee, t--; cum 233K 12/22;
  • 37374,

These wells run north to south on one pad:

  • 37396, ros-->drl/A,  CLR, Rodney 10-29H1, Cedar Coulee, t--; cum 199K 12/22;
  • 37397,

  • 37401,
  • 37402, drl/A,  CLR, Gale 11-32H, Cedar Coulee, t--; cum 228K 12/22;

These wells run north to south on one pad:

  • 37410,
  • 37409,
  • 37408,
  • 37941, ros, CLR, Bang 3-33H1,
  • 37407, ros, CLR, Gale 14-32HSL,
  • 37406,
  • 37405,

The CLR Rodney / Gale wells are tracked elsewhere.

NDIC's list of active rigs shows only two active CLR rigs, both drilling Rodney wells.

A Nice CLR Buelingo Well Has Just Gone Off-Line -- February 11, 2023

This well has just come off line. I don't "see" any activity in the area that might explain why this well was taken off line. Maybe a reader might know.

This well is impacted by the neighboring Tarentaise wells:

Holy Mackerel -- Think About This -- February 11, 2023

The Chinese are learning about the capabilities of US homeland security. Wow.

It seems to me this should be classified information.

***************************
From My Diary

Christmas, 1973:

Sometime during my last year in college, having been accepted to medical school, I knew I would never have a free summer again, and started planning to take a trip to Europe.

I learned that the Ashmores -- family friends from Williston -- would also, coincidentally, be in Europe that summer. My plans were vague: hitchhike to NYC, visit the Fisher residence with a hope that I might see Linda again, a round trip ticket to Europe on Luxembourg Air, catch up with the Ashmores in Europe, touch base with a family friend working in Stuttgart, Germany, finding a cousin serving in the US Navy in Naples, Italy, and then returning to the states. The details would be worked out on the fly.

I had not seen Linda Fisher since 1971, nor had we communicated during those two years since the fall of 1971 when I departed Westfield, NJ, to return to Augustana College, Sioux Falls, SD.

The Ashmores were an incredible family; more about them later.

The family friend in Stuttgart: Norm Furuseth, one of my dad's closest friends. He was working either as a high school teacher or as a principal of a US DODDS school.

My cousin, James Oksol, was a LTJG at the time.

And, yes, the details were "worked out on the fly." I traveled so lightly I did not pack an atlas (or even a map) of the United States. I looked at maps at service stations along the way. We had no mobile devices, no cell phones, in 1973.

I don't recall where I ate while hitchhiking from Williston to NYC, but it must have been McDonald's. I had $1,000 for the trip (which included air fare and an unlimited Eurail pass). The $1,000 was a loan from my mother which was eventually re-paid. I returned home from a summer in Europe, a week in New York City, and two weeks in Boston with $400 out of the original $1,000.

The trip played out as described in the jouornal notes above, not one deviation.

Years later, our two daughters had similar overseas experiences.

Bob Dylan released his thirteenth studio album in 1973. The album included "Knocking On Heaven's Door."

Vardon -- Siverston -- CLR -- Drilled In 2011 -- Still Flowing, Not On A Pump -- February 11, 2023

It's hard to believe this is the middle of winter, the coldest month of the year where I grew up, and here in Portland, Oregon, absolutely delightful.

The Vardon wells are tracked here. The wells have all been updated; the majority of these wells, according to the scout tickets, are still flowing, no pumps.

Last night I stumbled upon this well -- sort of a microcosm of the Bakken:
