The Apple Page

A lot of folks who had their student debts forgiven, and even more given a longer time to pay these debts off, will now have the money to buy a new Apple laptop and/or iPhone. Apple is up slightly today.

One imagines most of these student debts were originally incurred by wealthy parents, who have long since handed them off to their children who now qualify for student debt forgiveness, though it's possible the loans were not transferable. I don't know. I really don't care.

I would assume that the vast majority of folks that qualify for student debt forgiveness are staffers on Capitol Hill. This is not rocket science.

Over seven years, 6% interest $150 / month. Irrelevant.

Government debt: most of this was never going to be paid anyway, Irrelevant.

Reality

They say some twenty million  Americans are behind on their utility payments and will face "disconnects" this winter if they don't pay.

Not gonna happen.

If the federal government can "forgive" student debts -- certainly not life-threatening, local regulators can "forgive" utility debts. They aren't going to let children freeze.

Reality

Before it's all over, folks will be able to make the argument that workers earning less than $150,000 / year are entitled to a used car to get back and forth to work. The car payments will be taken over by the state.

  1. Dino tracks all over Montana as well.
Reality 1- One of the best deals I've done lately is to get on Set payment plan with local power company. Under paying now, but had built up a reserve with over payments during Winter.
Reality 2- This one goes off the rails quickly, who pays the insurance, gas, the tranny when it blows, etc...Like most other govt programs, it just doesnt work

    1. Here in Texas those plans work well until they don't -- usually every winter and every record-setting summer.
