A Padful Of Wonderfulness -- MRO Reports Two Completed DUCs; Incredible Wells -- Begs For More Explanation -- December 7, 2021

The wells:

  • 37657, 5,029, MRO, Medicine Crow USA 21-5H, Reunion Bay, first production, 8/21; t--; cum 158K in 2.5 months; 33-061-04757, lot 2 section 5-150-93; FracFocus: fracked 7/25/21 - 8/4/21; a very small frac with only 6 million gallons of water; fresh water, 57% by mass; produced water 29% by mass; that 53,576 over 15 days extrapolates to 107,152 bbls crude oil over 30 days:

A reader has provided infrequent but regular feedback when I post wells like this. Both of us agree that MRO is likely using some "new" technology or perhaps, better said, better completion strategies to get production like this. The technology has always been there; it's the operator choosing to "try" it that is new. MRO has always had good wells, but to consistently get production like this seems to require something "new." If true, it's only a matter of time before other operators follow suit.

There are four wells on this pad. They all run south:

  • 37656, see below,
  • 37654, see below,

Two newer wells to the west:

  • 37856, see below;
  • 37857, see below;

The parent well between the two newer wells above:

  • 18230, 552, MRO, Fisher USA 21-5H, Reunion Bay, t11/09; cum 433K 10/21; with huge jump in production when it was brought back on line, 8/21; see below.

Another older well to the east:

  • 20288, 1,377, MRO, Fisher USA 41-5H, Reunion Bay, t9/11; cum 483K 7/21; taken off line 7/21; remains off line 10/21;
